Fort Bend County Fair {Richmond, TX Photographer}

If you live in Fort Bend you most likely have been to or heard of the County Fair.  With my youngest being only two this was the first year she made the height limit to ride the rides.  I think it is evident by the images below we will be back next year!

HOPE TO SEE YOU NEXT YEAR!!!

My Back to School Beauties {TX, Child Photography}

School is back in session, but this year is a bit different for me than any other because my youngest started school.  Technically it is not "BIG" school since she is only 2 1/2, but as every mother knows that does not make it any easier.  Don't get me wrong I love the extra time to get work done without constant interruption.  Its knowing this will be the last time I see one of my babies enter their first school experience that brings a bit of sadness.  Coincidentally I came across this poem hours after I made that long walk up to the school building. It brought tears to my eyes just thinking my girls are growing up and there is nothing I can do to slow down the process.

My oldest entered second grade and my little one attends a private Christian school until she joins her sister at the Elementary school (which will probably be accompanied with several tears-from myself of course!)  The oldest was upset she had not lost as many teeth as her friends when school ended, so the tooth fairy worked hard to catch her up over the summer!!  Four teeth and several dollars later she proudly shows off her missing teeth!  As a photographer I love being able to capture these milestones in my girls lives.  She will only have her very obvious gaps for a short period, then they are gone.  Just like many other moments you may only be able to experience once.

So here are a few images of my babies ready to face the world and everything it brings!

HAVE A GREAT YEAR!!!

Young Lives Ministry {Fort Bend County}

I was contacted by a friend who is a PEP (Pregnancy, Education, and Parenting) Liaison with Fort Bend ISD.  She introduced me to the program Young Lives and asked if I would be interested in being a part of their first event.  I personally had heard of Young Life, which is a non-denominational ministry that was founded in 1941, and introduced to the Fort Bend area in 1991, but did not know anything about the new branch called Young Lives.

One of the Young Lives representatives contacted me and explained the mission of Young Life is to introduce adolescents to Jesus Christ and to help them grow in their faith.  She went on to tell me they do this by training and equipping volunteer leaders, like you and I, to enter the world of high school students and mentor and love them just as they are.  As the leaders build relationships with the teenagers they share the good news of Jesus Christ with them and provide strong role models for these girls. The goal is to reach out to teen moms of all different backgrounds and give them hope for their future and for their children.

The first event was a photography shoot and I was honored when asked to be one of the photographers.  The girls were gifted a framed portrait of their child or them together as well as a disk with additional images they could print and share with family.  Each event the girls gather together and grow in their relationships with one another as well as their faith.

At every Young Lives meeting girls will be provided transportation if needed, dinner, child care, and a chance to shop at a donation store.  Events are held once a month on Thursday evenings at Parkway United Methodist Church.  The next event will be held on May 10th and it will be a Yoga night.  I encourage you to spread the news to any girls you know that would be interested.  It is a safe place for them to come and be who they are.  If you are interested in supporting this new program they would welcome you with open arms.  Some of the needs are as follows:

*Adult women to be leaders for the girls.  These are individuals committed to developing relationships with the girls outside of the monthly events.
*Volunteers to transport the girls and their children to and from the monthly events.
*Groups to provide dinner.
*People to be on site at the church to serve in the child care area.
*Donated goods such as baby and maternity clothes, baby supplies, diapers, and larger items for raffles like car seats, swings, and pack in plays.

Programs like these cannot survive without the help of outside sources and enthusiastic individuals that want to help make a positive impact in someone else's life.  If you are compelled to serve or donate in any of these areas please feel free to contact myself or Parkway United Methodist Church, which graciously offers their campus to be used for the monthly meetings.  Myself as well as the church would be happy to connect you with one of the ministry leaders.

   "In everything I showed you that by working hard in this manner you must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He Himself said, 'It is more blessed to give than to receive."
                                                                                                                                                                                                   Acts 20:35

Here are a few images from the photography event.

Ryan {Richmond, TX-Senior Photography}

The school year is coming to an end and that means if you have not already done your Senior portraits you have officially hit crunch time!  Its funny because I have found I get more male High School Seniors the last few months of the school year than females.  Could this be an indication guys are not into the whole photo shoot like females are?  When I ask most of my guy Seniors they tell me "Im doing it for my mom."  I love this because they are so honest!

This next Senior was not thrilled to be the center of attention, but like all the others he knew the importance and was not going to let his mom down.  It did not take long for him to loosen up and we had a really great time.  I later heard from his mom that after the shoot he said he was glad she made him go.  I defiantly took that as a compliment ;)

Parker {Richmond, TX-Family Photography}

I was excited about this shoot from the moment I was asked to do it.  Beverly aka MeMe, wanted memories with her only grandson Parker, the love of her life!  This touched my heart because I am extremely close to my grandmother and wished I would have had the opportunity to do something like this.  At ten years old Parker might not see the importance of this photo shoot, but as he gets older Im sure he will treasure these images as his MeMe is now.

Just as I do with all my clients I asked for some information about Parker so I could tailor the shoot around his style and interest.   His meme told me he loves music and plays the keyboard and electric guitar.  She also added his favorite musicians were Bon Jovi and the Beatles.  After hearing that I could not wait to meet this young man!

Parker brought his electric guitar since it was a bit easier to commute than his keyboard and the fun began!  This young man and his MeMe had me laughing the majority of the session and I was over joyed to be the one to capture the memories those two shared that day.  These are the sessions that remind me of why I truly love what I do and how important my job is.  Parker is going to continue to grow older, but my hope is that every time his MeMe looks at these images she is reminded of that sweet ten year old boy and the laughter and memories they shared that day.

Vintage Beauty {My Inspiration}

My oldest daughter is a pro when it comes to being in front of the camera.  Having a mom as a photographer she quickly got use to having her photo taken.  She is now six and every time the camera gets pointed in her direction she strikes one of her famous poses.  Here are a few images of her doing her thing without any direction from mom.  One of these days this little beauty is going to take over my business and by then she will be well equipped with years of experience!!!

"I Love You Through and Through" {My Inspiration}

My youngest daughters favorite book is "I Love You Through and Through."  We have read it so often that she basically finishes the sentences for me.  The other day I heard her little voice coming from her bedroom.  Curious as to what she was doing I quietly peeked around the corner and immediately had one of those "mommy moments."  She had got her bear and was reading her favorite story to him, in her words of course!  I was fortunate enough to have my camera close by so I quickly grabbed it and nonchalantly started taking some pictures of her and the interaction she was having with her friend "bear."  I was amazed as I watched her do some of the exact things with her bear as I would do with her when we read the book together.  At that moment I was reminded how special those little times are when we just sit on the floor and read a book together.  My family is my world and even in the busiest times they can always find a way to keep me grounded and remind me to treasure the important things in life!

Bass Family {Richmond, TX-Family Photography}

I photographed this beautiful family six months ago when little Bryson was just a few weeks old.  I cannot believe how quickly time passes.  Not only did I get to play with Bryson but he brought along his precious new bulldog, Bertha, who stole my heart.  Unfortunately Bertha only joined us in a few shots because she could not resist giving everyone her huge puppy kisses!!!

Thank you for continuing to choose me to capture your growing family. I LOVE my clients!!!!

Hunter {Newborn Photography-In Studio}

This little man rocked his shoot from beginning to end!  Mom and dad are both Texas Tech Alumni's and little Hunter showed his true Red Raider Pride when he threw up his "shoot em" sign while hanging out in his daddy's custom boots.  Now that is a born Raider fan!

I love being able to use clients personal props during any session, and dads boots were over the top!  I knew we had to get baby Hunter inside one of those boots.  No worries this poses was achieved with safety first and I can assure you Hunter was comfortable the entire time.

I had a great time photographing your little man and I cannot wait to continue to watch him grow and change throughout the years.
